The Freedom Sprint · From Debt to Wealth

If you stopped adding to your debt today, when would you be free?

Most people have never seen that date. Enter what you owe below and see it, along with what an extra $100 or $200 a month would change. No sign-up, nothing to download.

Your sprint order

Pay the minimum on everything, put every extra dollar on the first debt, and when it is gone, roll its payment into the next one.

Illustration only. Assumes fixed rates, interest added monthly, no new charges, and that each minimum payment stays the same. Your real minimums, rates, fees and promotional terms will change the results. This is education, not credit counseling or a guarantee of any outcome.

    Two ways to sprint

Pick the order you will actually finish.

Both work. The math favors one, and your motivation may favor the other.

    Avalanche: highest rate first

Every extra dollar goes to the debt charging you the most. You pay the least interest overall. It works best if you can stay patient while the first balance comes down.

    Snowball: smallest balance first

Knock out the smallest balance first for a quick win, then roll that payment into the next one. It can cost a little more in interest, but the early wins keep a lot of families going.

    The Freedom Sprint

    Three simple steps.

    1. List it all

Every balance, rate and minimum in one place. Most people are surprised by the total, and that surprise is the starting line.

    2. Pick your order

Avalanche or snowball. One target at a time, minimums on everything else.

    3. Sprint for 90 days

Every extra dollar goes to the target. When it is paid off, roll that payment forward. Check in every 30 days and keep going.

The Freedom Sprint is inspired by Michelle Singletary's Debt Dash.

    Where your home fits

Your house can help. It can also hurt.

If you own your home, you may be able to roll high-rate cards into a lower-rate mortgage. That can free up hundreds a month. It also turns debt you could walk away from into debt tied to your house, and it can stretch a few years of payments over 30.

That is why we run your Cost of Capital first: what each dollar you owe really costs you today, and what it would cost after. If the numbers don't work, or the spending hasn't stopped, we will tell you.

Credit under 640?We start with a credit plan, not a loan. 640 opens the door to most home loan programs and better rates.
Own your home?We compare the sprint against a refinance so you can see both side by side.
Debt gone? The payments you freed up become your emergency fund, then your tax-free Bucket 3.
    Questions

    Questions we hear often

Should I use my savings to pay off debt faster?

Not all of it. Keep a cushion of at least one month of expenses while you sprint, and build to 3 to 6 months once the debt is gone. Without a cushion, the next surprise bill goes right back on a card.

Avalanche or snowball: which one is right?

Avalanche (highest rate first) usually costs the least in interest. Snowball (smallest balance first) gives you quick wins that keep you going. The right one is the one you will actually finish. The calculator shows you both.

Will paying off a collection raise my credit score?

Not always. Paying an old collection does not always move the score, and the right move depends on the account's age and balance. Ask us before you pay or contact a collector, especially if you plan to buy a home soon.

Should I roll my credit cards into my mortgage?

Sometimes, but only when the math works and the spending stops. A cash-out refinance can lower your monthly payments, but it turns unsecured debt into debt secured by your home and can stretch it over 30 years. We run the full Cost of Capital before recommending it.

    What does this cost?

The calculator and the discovery call are free. If a refinance or another product makes sense, we explain exactly how it works and what it costs before you decide anything.

    Your next step

What would you do with the money once the debt is gone?

On a free 30 minute call we put your real numbers into a Freedom Sprint plan, check where your credit and your home fit, and map where that freed-up cash goes next.
